It once again ranked as the state with the highest tourism FDI during the first quarter of 2024, at 161.3 million dollars.
According to data from Mexico's Ministry of Tourism (Sectur), Baja California Sur once again ranked as the state with the highest Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the tourism sector during the first quarter of 2024, at 161.3 million dollars.
In this regard, the Ministry of Tourism and Economy (Setue) reported that this figure represents 34.4% of the national total, followed by Mexico City with 30.8%, Quintana Roo with 15.8%, Yucatan with 6.3%, and Jalisco with 4.8 percent.


Setue confirmed that the category behind this result was temporary accommodation services, specifically furnished apartments and houses with hotel services, which are entirely new investments.
The main countries of origin of tourism investment in the state are the United States, Canada, and Spain.
The state agency also emphasized that Baja California Sur remains open to all investment projects that create more jobs while ensuring the sustainability of resources.
